Types

There are five WIAA classes of membership. Currently, WIAA serves members in California, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico.

Active Members (California & Nevada).

All persons with a resident license in California & Nevada who sell insurance and are actively engaged in the insurance agency business who, either in their own name or in the name of the agency with which they are associated, represent one or more insurance companies, and are interested in promoting the purposes and objectives of this association are eligible for membership.

Affiliate Members (Arizona & New Mexico).

All persons with a resident license in Arizona or New Mexico who sell insurance and are actively engaged in the insurance agency business who, either in their own name or in the name of the agency with which they are associated, represent one or more insurance companies, and are interested in promoting the purposes and objectives of this association are eligible for affiliate membership.

Associate Members.

Any other person or organization affiliated directly or indirectly with the insurance industry, who is not eligible for active or affiliate membership but is interested in promoting the purposes and objectives of this association can apply for associate membership.

Honorary Members.

Any person having gained eminence in the insurance industry, or any person who merits the Association’s esteem, may be elected an honorary member by unanimous vote of the Directors present and voting at any regular or duly called meeting of the Board of Directors.

Retired Members.

Retired Membership is available to individuals who, prior to leaving the insurance industry, maintained active membership in the Association for a minimum of ten consecutive years.
